Society penalizes your face for being “plain or ugly”. You may think facial beauty is in the eye of the beholder but this is not the case. The standard for facial beauty is very much consistent across all cultures. When sets of different facial images were brought to different cultures- from the hidden, dense forests of the Amazon to the busiest cities in the world- people were asked to put these images in the order of most attractiveness to least attractiveness. Researchers were shocked to see that all the participants put these images in the same order! What flabbergasted researchers even more was when they showed these images to newborn babies, they discovered that they  gazed at the most attractive faces longer- regardless of the subject’s age, race, or gender. Amazing as it may sound, in these experiments, both adults and babies shared the same facial beauty standards.

Guess what?  Your face affects how people treat you- not your makeup, not your clothing, not your skin color, and not your height! If you have a beautiful face, all the things you thought were important, will no longer be true. PERIOD.

It is good to be beautiful! Beauty, in turn, affects your earnings, wealth, mate choice, health, and longevity. Here is a list of outrageous facts from major research studies you should know about:

1. According to a survey done by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 10% of men and 13% of women said they would go under the knife if cosmetic surgery would get them better jobs and better pay.  Nearly 90% of USA females had some forms of cosmetic procedures.
2. Beautiful people earn nearly a quarter of a million dollars more in a lifetime than people who are “plain”. Handsome men may earn 17 percent more than their plain counterparts and there is a 12 percent difference for women. Even handsome NFL quarterbacks earn more than their plain counterparts.
3. Researchers said if you are beautiful, you are more likely to get promoted for higher paying, prestigious jobs.
4. If you own a business, hire beautiful people! They are more productive because they like to be seen and love to mingle with others so they will bring in more business for you.
5. If you need to get a loan, there is a good chance you will get it if you are beautiful.
6. It is good to be beautiful. It can extend your life span by 7 years for men and 3 years for women.
7. When you are beautiful, you attract a beautiful mate. Beautiful couples make more money than their plain counterparts.

 Strange Trivia: The U.S. Government is considering offering an affirmative action program for “ugly” people. Universal enlightenment will not be here anytime soon so make sure you do everything in your power to look good. No one wants to be in this program.
