For some individuals, lip plumping devices work like magic. Their lips stay enlarged for up to 24 hours! For others, their lips deflate within the hour.  It can be a frustrating experience. Why is it that some individuals can hold their lip enhancing effect for such a long time? What is it that they do, not do, consume or not consume? Don’t fret. The answers are here. The following strategies may work even for the most stubborn lips.


If you ever had a  liquid bowel movement from eating something contaminated, the after effect can leave you dehydrated, light-headed, and weakened. To restore your body’s balance, you replenish your fluids by drinking water. This is one way you can manipulate your body to replace what is lost. Believe it or not, the flushing and forcing of water in and out the body are an art. Combat sports such as boxing, wrestling, kickboxing, Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Taekwondo, and mixed martial arts use weight-classes in their tournaments. It is very common for fighters to practice weight cutting. It is the practice of fast weight loss prior to a sporting competition. To cut the weight, they force water out of the body. For example, on the day of the weigh-ins, a fighter can lose 5 to 10 percent of body weight in water and on the day of the fight, put it all back. Guess what? This is all done within one week. What is most impressive is the fighter does not lose strength as you did when you had your liquid bowel movement! Athletes who master this art have a weight advantage over their opponents. The heavier you are, the harder you can punch. Georges St. Pierre, the world’s top fighter, can rapidly lose 20-30 pounds for weigh-ins. This is an extreme illustration to show you how a master can manipulate the body to excrete and hold water on demand.

Take a close look at the two sets of images below. This is Nate Green, coach trainer and author of Built for Show and the Hero Handbook. These are before and after results of weight manipulation. He lost 20 pounds in 5 days and he restored nearly everything back in just 24 hours! You can see that he is bulkier and plumper in the second set of images. Even his lips are  bigger and fuller when he is hydrated!



You may not be a master of water manipulation but you have done it throughout your life to some degree, knowingly or unknowingly. If you are thirsty, you drink water. If you are  on a cleansing diet, you may drink plenty of water and vegetable juice to flush out the trapped poisons from the body. As for your lip plumping effect, what you eat, drink, or do can inadvertently affect your lip plumping experience. Let’s reveal some things that flush water from the body. When the body is losing water, your lips will not plump as easily and they  also deflate quickly.


Taking Laxatives or Diuretics
Excess Alcohol Consumption
Weight Loss Supplement


Leafy Greens and Vegetables  (such as dandelion, kale, spinach, cabbage, beets, celery, parsley, leeks to name a few…)
Fiber Rich Foods (such as oats and beans)
Caffeinated Tea/Sodas
Vegetable Juice  (such as mixed greens, cucumber, carrot, and tomato)
Cranberry Juice
Apple Cider Vinegar
Sweets and Salty Foods
High Protein Low Carbohydrate Diet

When all items listed above are done in excess, they can prevent your lips from plumping fully because you are not well hydrated. Stay hydrated. However, over drinking your water can force the body to get rid of even more water! This may be one reason why your lips are not plumping!  You must find the perfect water level for your body.  If your lips are not plumping, adjust your habits accordingly.



If your body is flushing out too much water and your lips won’t plump fully, add electrolytes rich-foods to your regimen. Electrolytes your body needs include sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium and phosphate. Here is a list of great foods rich in electrolytes: bananas, potatoes, sweet potatoes, avocados, yogurt, coconut water, seaweed snacks, pickles, electrolyte beverages, milk, and bone broths (collagen).



Avoid smoking, pain killers, numbing or related agents


The key to success is to have a variable diet and eat everything in moderation. Eating too much of anything  can be toxic for the body because the body uses water to flush them out. If you do not drink enough water, you remain dehydrated. If you drink too much, you lose electrolytes which are necessary for your skin to stay plump.
If what you have been doing does not work, try to reverse your habits even if you think you are eating a balanced healthy diet.
